Overview:

This was the capstone project for the unit on Kids Advertising Techniques. Students had to apply some (or all) of the 10 techniques to create a new food product for kids. Once the product was created they had to use these techniques to make a commercial to "sell it"

Directions:

Example from last year

Kids Food Assignment for Part 2
*Please read before starting*
This is an individual project.

1. Take a picture of your finished product
Either with your own phone or with Mrs. Ferris camera

-Picture is clear and shows the design
-Product name and Cute Celebrity should be clearly visible
2. Create a 20-30 second animoto video. Go to __www.animoto.com__ and use the account you have OR to set up your account
You must:
  • Use the Product name 3 times
  • Show the product design (using the picture or pictures you took)
  • Incorporate 2 of the kids advertising techniques into your project
    • You can find images from Google Images to help enhance your project
***If you would like to film a live action commercial for your product that is OK too. See Mrs. Ferris for details, though the requirements will be the same, you (or someone else) will just be in it and you will be able to speak
Make sure this is:
-G-Rated
-Appropriate for Target Audience

Notes:
*To use Animoto, you will need to create an account and then share your final video with Mrs. Ferris by copying the Link into the comments of the Classroom assignment
Using Animoto means you will not have spoken words so you will need to be creative with the images and sounds to get your commercial to sell your product

Question:

How do I show students that some things they do are distracting to the overall project and do not enhance it? Also, how do I get them to follow the directions they were given?
